Making the move into living in an Airstream full time can be intimidating, but a good storage system can save lots of headache about consolidating everything you own.

Here are some tips for making your home on wheels more neat and accessible.

Produce hammocks

Keep your counters clean and your fruits and vegetables out of the way by clipping these to the wall, which also keeps the fresh food visible so you remember to use it sooner. And it might even match your standard sized human hammock.

While you're at it, add more of those hooks to the wall. Hooks can be placed throughout your travel trailer for keys, towels, clothes, outdoor gear, kitchen supplies, and aesthetically pleasing decor.

Add drawers under tables, or inside cabinets.

From little pencil drawers to larger stand-up options, a great way to maximize dead space is by using it for storage! Drawers like these can easily be secured to the underside of your dinette table or kitchen cabinets.

Dish Cradles

Storing your plates, bowls, and cutlery in an Airstream can be a stressful task when you’re worried about items moving around while you’re on the road, or when you have too many plates in too little space. Using dish cradles inside your kitchen cabinets can hold them tightly together during road trips so that no plates break, and also conserve a ton of cabinet space.

Take inventory of your RV

Perhaps most important, don’t keep a bunch of stuff that you don’t need. Make a commitment to tidying up and discarding wasteful items at the end of each season, which will also lighten the overall weight of the Airstream, even by just a little. Consider Marie Kondo’s KonMari method for an efficient way to tidy up your whole living space.
